Amateur Female Triathlete of the Year Margaret Shapiro of Annandale, Virginia, smacked the field by 1:43 at the inaugural Best of the U.S. sprint distance final and gave the overall field a definitive 3:01 spanking at the ITU age group world championship – the biggest margin in the 17-year history of the event.
